Laura Slocka
Specializations:I am a doctoral student at the College of Legal Studies of the Doctoral School of the University of Wroclaw, and I am preparing my dissertation on neurotechnology and personal property within the framework of the “Implementing Doctorate” program funded by the MEiN.
I am interested in the law of new technologies, mainly privacy and cyber security, medical law and all legal and ethical aspects of neurotechnology. In connection with my interests, I have presented papers at numerous scientific conferences and published scientific articles on neurodata protection and information obligations of the entrepreneur in the scientific journals “Medical Law Review” and “Electronic Media Law” and in the scientific monograph C.H. Beck.
I have participated in many international conferences and summer schools in the field of new technology law, procedural law or American law, including “Summer School of European IP and ICT Law” in Reichenau/Rax, “Project PRESENT Final Conference – Enhancing the Right to be Present” in Porto or “CyberSpace” in Brno. During my studies, I served as president of SKN BPK LegalNet for 3 years.
As part of my professional practice, I mainly deal with complex legal services for companies, personal data protection and the FinTech sector. I have been gaining experience and skills since the first year of my studies, among others, during my internship at the district court and the district prosecutor’s office.
In my free time, I sail, and as a PZŻ referee I judge during regattas. In addition, as a sports instructor in the discipline of sailing, I help athletes prepare for competing in regattas, and as a PZŻ sailing teacher, I prepare young people and adults for the exams for sailing patents.
