DALL·E 2, or How Artificial Intelligence Creates Graphics and Images?
Interest in the use of artificial intelligence grows year by year, and as a result artificial intelligence is becoming part of both professional work and ordinary everyday activities.
Interest in the use of artificial intelligence grows year by year, and as a result artificial intelligence is becoming part of both professional work and ordinary everyday activities.
What is DALL·E 2?
DALL·E 2 is an artificial intelligence system that creates images and graphics based on text.
In other words, DALL·E 2 makes it possible to create new graphics and images, as well as to modify existing ones, based on a text description.
This description does not have to be elaborate. In fact, a short description of just a few words is enough to create a graphic or image.
These graphics and images can then be used on websites, in applications, books, or posts.
How does DALL·E 2 work?
DALL·E 2 processes the description by breaking it down into individual tokens, on the basis of which it then creates a graphic or image.
Tokens can be either whole words or parts of them.
How do you use DALL·E 2?
To use DALL·E 2, you need to create an account and accept the basic DALL·E 2 rules.
Importantly, DALL·E 2 is intended for adult users, and as a result the DALL·E 2 system is geared more toward professional activities than just entertainment.
Use of DALL·E 2 is based on license terms.
Read more about what a license is and what to look out for when reading it here.
You can read about the DALL·E 2 license itself in our next post.
DALL·E 2 and Copyright When using DALL·E 2 to create graphics and images, an important question arises.
Who holds the copyright to the resulting graphics or images?
It is worth recalling that, under the principles of copyright law, only a creation resulting from human activity can qualify as a work.
Consequently, a graphic or image created using DALL·E 2 is not a work.
As a result, the person who wrote the description that served as the basis for creating the graphic or image holds neither moral rights nor economic rights.
In other words, this graphic or image is created by an artificial intelligence system, not by a human.
Summary DALL·E 2 is an artificial intelligence system that creates graphics and images, which can then be used in your work, both professional and creative.
DALL·E 2 creates graphics and images based on the description provided, which does not need to be elaborate to be effective.
When using DALL·E 2, you should keep in mind the terms set out in the license agreement, which we will write about in our next post.
