Michal Skrzywanek
Partner Specializations:I am a legal advisor, a member of the Commission for the Promotion of the Environment. He is a member of the New Technologies Committee of The Federation of the European Bars. I have extensive professional experience – before founding dotlaw, I worked for several years for the largest Polish law firm, advising numerous listed companies and international entities. My main areas of expertise are IT law, intellectual property law, M&A, business and commercial law. I have been conducting workshops and trainings in the area of new technology law for several years.
I was part of the team implementing Poland’s largest crowdfunding platform in cooperation with an international payment operator (I advised on IP, compliance and regulatory issues – AML, PSD2), and the subsequent sale of this entity to an international investor. Currently, in the same capital group, I advise the largest Polish publisher of role-playing games, helping developers understand the nuances of intellectual property law.
In the past, I participated in the Legal Hackathon in Warsaw, where among programmers, UX specialists, graphic designers and lawyers, we developed software based on the concept of Legal Design, which visualized complex contracts and presented them to the audience in accessible content. This experience especially inspires me to constantly test and implement new technologies that automate and facilitate the daily work of both lawyers and our clients.
In addition to working with clients, I engage in civic pro-bono projects, working with the Commission on Human Rights and the Rule of Law of the OIRP Wrocław and the field attorney of the Ombudsman. I particularly enjoy working with young people on educational projects, advising artists in disputes over freedom of speech and expression, and helping refugees.
